DOUBLEWIRED, THE Spinnerbait has once again produced a great summer of fishing.Spinner bait fishing in the summer usually only produces a BIG catch when you are lake fishing at night. DOUBLEWIRED, The Spinnerbait has proven to be a supperior spinner bait in these conditions. The second arm on my spinner bait makes deep water fishing much easier than single wire spinner bait designs and I have stocked my freezer with some of the biggest bass and wall eye to come out of South Holston Lake. There was a time I only fished with spinner baits in the spring and fall. No more! DOUBLEWIRED, The Spinnerbait has become a lure for all seasons. Spinner bait fishing is an art that seperates the men from the boys and DOUBLEWIRED, The Spinnerbait is the lure for men who possess the skill it takes to catch the BIG one. The next time you "Ask Chester" via email, tell me what color, temperature and depth of the water you are fishing and I will advise you on the perfect spinner bait size to use in your specific fishing conditions.
Bass move in shallow water, to find warmer water, for spawning and food. Try fishing in shallow water on cloudy days or in murky water. Flipping the lure is a good technique to use in these conditions.
When fishing for Walleye, use small spinnerbaits in more shallow water. Fish from sundown to midnight, particularly during the heat of the summer and deeper as the sunrises. Walleye are less active in cold water. The trick to fishing for Walleye is to know how deep to fish based on the water temperature.
